The tools and knowledge to monetize your Podcast

Following on from some emails and comments (which are truly appreciated by the way!), I thought a short note of clarification surrounding the content and the aims of Podcast Monetizer might be useful.

First of all, what it is not!

So what will it cover then?

Podcast Monetizer is a tutorial package aimed at podcasters who wish to produce “premium content” as part of their current (or planned) podcast and charge for it. Actually, even if you don’t want to charge for it but just want to develop secure access mechanisms or a membership scheme, it’s also applicable to you.

In order to do this successfully, there are certain components you will need to enable you to publish your content in this form and be able to manage all the tasks involved in taking payment for “premium content”.

That’s what Podcast Monetizer will be focusing on!

Such things include (partial list):

The list goes on but hopefully you’ll get a flavour for what it’s all about. It’s all the behind the scenes stuff that enables you to run a “premium content” podcast.

Now that’s not to say I won’t be throwing a few “generic” podcasting tips in here and there, as it would probably be impossible to completely separate them out but just be aware that it’s not the main focus.

If there are any specific questions about the content, please feel free to leave a comment in the thread and I’ll be more than happy to answer them.

    Hi Don,
Just a note of thanks. Your work is excellent!

I eagerly await this new podcast. From a business perspective I see this strategy you’ve developed as an effective way to take my message to potential clients and generate a return on my investment at the same time.

Oh, and I wanted to add a point. Don’t sell your colleagues short! That is, some of the best business related podcasts on the web come from the UK.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Rob,

Thanks, You know, I knew this Monitizer/Monitiser spelling would drive me bonkers!

No slur intended to my UK colleagues of course (if that’s what you were refering to!).

What I might do is use both spellings throughout the blog and then alternate the header graphic each day.

    Cheers

    Hi,
I’ve been checking this site from time to time and am eagerly waiting for your “how to” to be posted (or how to subscribe to your content).

I’d like to be able to set up a site as soon as possible. How close is the launch? Are you putting up a demo site? Do you need any help?

    Allan,

The current plan is to launch in approx 5 weeks. There’s a lot to sort out but thanks for the offer.

    Hi Don,

As you know, I’m really looking forward to this. I think I’ll be your first ‘customer’. And if it’s only half as good as what you are doing with ScreenCasts Online, it will still be superb :-)

    Regards,

    Stefaan
