Creative Juices Are Flowing!
I’ve started to get into a flow now with updating the foundation document!
The various sections are expanding and the structure is starting to crystallise as I add more content to the document.
I’m resisting the urge to pad out the document with fluff or the more generic aspects of podcasting at this stage. That may come later in supplementary modules but I’m trying to focus on the physical nature of putting together the necessary infrastructure required to deliver and charge for premium content.
As I move through the document, I’m starting to use more references to ScreenCastsOnline and how that has evolved over the last 12 months giving the reader the benefit of my experiences both good and bad, and sharing some of my thought processes behind why I’ve done certain things in the way I’ve done them.
This is most definitely not going to be based on theory!
PS I’m going to start tagging my posts with “newmediaexpo2007″ which is the official tag for content referencing the Podcast and New Media Expo in September 2007 at Ontario, CA. I’m going to the Expo to give a session primarily on screencasting but touching on premium podcasting. Of course, Podcast-Monetizer will be out well before then and I’d love to meet up with like minded podcasters to share thoughts and ideas on podcast monetization.

I think that your decision to stay away from too much “how to podcast” info is a wise one. There a many resources out there that do that. The content and production is, indeed, an important part of a premium product either as an adjunct to a free podcast or as a premium podcast entirely. That content and production information should be in place before placing the premium wrapper around it.
